THE ENCYCLOPEDIA PROJECT

Vivariom is building a contemporary visual collection of the natural world, inspired by the tradition of scientific illustration and created for modern interiors.

Species, plants, minerals and celestial bodies progressively become part of The Vivariom Encyclopedia : an evolving archive at the intersection of nature, science, art and technology.

CELEBRATING THE LIVING WORLD

At the heart of Vivariom is a deep attachment to the natural world.

The project is built on the belief that biodiversity, natural forms and the complexity of living systems deserve to be observed, understood and represented with care.

Vivariom seeks to cultivate attention rather than passive consumption: to make people look more closely, learn the names of things, notice differences between species and reconnect knowledge with a sense of wonder.

This celebration of life is not decorative. It is a fundamental part of the project.

  • A CONTEMPORARY APPROACH TO SCIENTIFIC ILLUSTRATION

Vivariom draws inspiration from the long tradition of scientific and natural history illustration.

Rather than reproducing historical plates, the project reinterprets their principles — observation, classification, precision and curiosity — through a contemporary visual language.

Each artwork can stand alone, while every new subject contributes to a larger visual encyclopedia.

  • ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE AS A CREATIVE TOOL

Vivariom openly uses artificial intelligence and prompt engineering as parts of its image-making process.

Generative technologies are approached as a new medium for visual research and artistic production, expanding the ways natural forms and structures can be explored and represented.

AI is guided by human direction, scientific references and a process of selection and review.

  • SCIENTIFIC ACCURACY

Visual realism does not guarantee scientific accuracy.
Vivariom artworks are therefore reviewed against scientific references, with attention to the defining characteristics of each subject.
Images with significant inconsistencies may be corrected, regenerated or rejected.
AI supports, rather than replaces, a process of research, selection and scientific verification.

 PRESERVE WHAT WE CELEBRATE

Representing nature also implies a responsibility toward it.

Vivariom seeks to connect its visual project with a broader commitment to the preservation of the natural world.

Prints are produced on demand to limit unnecessary inventory, and each poster purchased contributes to the planting of one tree through a reforestation initiative.

One Poster. One Tree.
