PLUTO
PLUTO
Pluto is an icy dwarf planet in the Kuiper Belt, orbiting beyond Neptune at an average distance of about 39 astronomical units from the Sun. It is roughly 2,377 kilometres in diameter and has a complex surface of water-ice bedrock with volatile nitrogen, methane and carbon-monoxide ices beneath a thin nitrogen-dominated atmosphere. New Horizons revealed unexpectedly varied terrain, including mountains of water ice and the nitrogen-ice Sputnik Planitia basin. Pluto and its large moon Charon are mutually tidally locked.
Presented as a refined astronomical plate, this art print showcases its icy surface, varied terrain, and distinctive heart-shaped Tombaugh Regio. A unique piece for space lovers, collectors of scientific illustration, and interiors seeking elegance with meaning.
