CATOPSILIA POMONA
CATOPSILIA POMONA
Catopsilia pomona, the Lemon Emigrant, is a widespread pierid butterfly found from South and Southeast Asia to Australia and parts of the Pacific. Wing coloration varies from pale greenish white to yellow, with differences between sexes and seasonal forms. The larvae feed primarily on species of Senna and related legumes. Adults are strong, mobile fliers and can occur in large numbers, sometimes participating in conspicuous directional movements that inspired the name “emigrant.” They frequent open habitats, gardens and forest edges, where they visit a wide variety of flowers.
Presented as a refined naturalist plate, this art print showcases its delicate pale yellow wings and graceful form. A unique piece for nature lovers, collectors of scientific illustration, and interiors seeking elegance with meaning.
