DIAMOND
DIAMOND
Diamond is a mineral species composed of crystalline carbon, notable for exceptional hardness, high thermal conductivity and strong optical dispersion. It defines Mohs hardness 10, although this resistance to scratching does not make diamond indestructible: it can still cleave or chip. Most natural gem diamonds formed deep in Earth's mantle, commonly around 150 kilometres or more below the surface, before volcanic magmas transported them upward. Many natural diamonds are more than one billion years old, making their brilliance the visible expression of material formed deep within ancient Earth.
Presented as a refined naturalist plate, this art print highlights its facets, clarity, and symbolic strength. A unique piece for gemstone lovers, collectors of scientific illustration, and interiors seeking elegance with meaning.
