RUBY
RUBY
Ruby is the red gem variety of the mineral corundum, aluminium oxide, whose color is produced mainly by trace amounts of chromium. Corundum ranks 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, making ruby one of the hardest natural gemstones after diamond. Fine stones can display intense red fluorescence under ultraviolet light, which may reinforce their apparent color in daylight. Rubies form in several geological environments, including metamorphic marbles and basalt-related deposits, and historically important sources include Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Mozambique and other regions of Asia and Africa.
Presented as a refined naturalist plate, this art print captures its deep red brilliance, symbolic passion, and timeless strength. A unique piece for gemstone lovers, collectors of scientific illustration, and interiors seeking elegance with meaning.
