SAPPHIRE

SAPPHIRE

Sapphire is gem-quality corundum that occurs in colors other than the red reserved for ruby. Blue sapphire owes its color principally to interactions involving trace iron and titanium within the crystal structure, although sapphires can also be yellow, pink, green, colorless or other hues. With Mohs hardness 9, corundum is highly resistant to scratching and well suited to jewelry. Sapphires form in metamorphic and igneous geological settings and are often recovered from secondary alluvial deposits after erosion releases the durable crystals from their host rocks.

Presented as a refined naturalist plate, this art print showcases its deep blue brilliance, symbolic wisdom, and timeless elegance. A unique piece for gemstone lovers, collectors of scientific illustration, and interiors seeking elegance with meaning.
